My Background and Approach

I use elements of several different orientations in the work that I do: Existential Therapy (this means looking at what you value to make life feel meaningful), Attachment Theory (this looks at relational dynamics and potential attachment wounds that could be informing how you relate to others in intimate relationships and beyond), CBT and DBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy - skills-based interventions to help recognize and change distressing thinking patterns and beliefs to work towards a sense of peace), and somatic/mindfulness interventions (focusing on the body, breath, presence, and meditation for regulating the nervous system if that is needed). I hold Master’s degrees in both Clinical Psychology and Communication Studies and have worked in clinical settings with clients experiencing addiction, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, codependency and trauma.

Fees for Therapy

My fee is $200 per 50-minute individual psychotherapy session; my fee for couples and families is $250 (60 min).

I’m happy to provide a superbill (monthly statement) for out-of-network insurance reimbursement. Please contact your insurance company regarding out-of-network coverage verification for mental health services.

Sliding Scale: Please reach out to see if I have sliding scale spots available.

About My Clients

My clients are often those who - for a variety of reasons - struggle with behaviors that cloud their true identity, impeding on their goals and sense of self, or sabotaging relationships. I believe that therapy allows us to dismantle the beliefs, ideas, and fears that we carry in order to cultivate the life we want to live.

About Me

I understand the pain of feeling stuck. It can seem like things will never change.

I honor diversity in the truest sense; and I also don't expect anyone to be fully defined by their identity/ies, difference/s, or disability/ies. I am a person who stutters and have moved through the world in a way that is informed by this divergence from most peoples' experience. I believe there is healing in harnessing the body-mind connection and and am always working to dismantle the inherently ableist ideas that come with that. I believe that recovery involves recovering essential parts of ourselves that have been lost - through discovering and engaging in things that bring us joy.

Running and being in the mountain air brings me joy. I am familiar with healing that is available through different recovery communities including Refuge Recovery and the 12 steps and have been honored to practice the Eastern spiritual tradition of Bhakti yoga as an integration into the existential work that I do with clients.
